Daniel Poulin - Director
Daniel Poulin founded LexUM in the 1990's and oversees and manages the team since then. Daniel is a professor at the Law Faculty where he teaches cyberspace law. In May 2005, he is appointed LexUM Chair in legal technology by the University of Montreal Board. Daniel Poulin is the author of various articles relating to law and technology, free access to law and other related matters such as e-filing. In addition to his academic activities, he manages the Canadian Legal Information Institute (CanLII), the leading open access to legal information resource in Canada that he created with the Federation of law societies of Canada in 2000. Daniel is a member of the Judges Technology Advisory Committee (JTAC) of the Canadian Judicial Council. He established the Canadian Citation Committee in 1997 and is still member of the committee. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Institute for the Administration of Justice. Daniel Poulin is an alumni and lead all his academic career at University of Montreal.
Ivan Mokanov - Deputy director
Ivan Mokanov is Deputy Director of LexUM and Chief Editor of CanLII. He oversees CanLII's publishing and development activities and works with the Board of Directors to set CanLII's strategic directions. At LexUM, Ivan supervises various consulting and research projects in Canada and abroad. As a member of LexUM's Executive Committee, he participates in LexUM's administration and business development. Ivan is a graduate from Sofia University (B.C.L.), the University of Montreal (LL.M.) and he is currently enrolled at HEC Montreal (M.B.A).
Marc-André Morissette - Chief analyst
Marc-André Morissette is Chief Analyst at LexUM. He plans and supervises software development for all LexUM projects. He is responsible for development and maintenance of systems, standards and norms and for the technical infrastructure. As a member of LexUM's Executive Committee, he participates in LexUM's administration and business development. Marc-André is a graduate from University of Montreal in Computer Science (B.Sc.)
Éric Paré - Business Development
Éric Paré is LexUM's Business Development Manager. He works on projects that are related to access to law and deployment of specialized information management systems with various partners in Canada and abroad. As a member of LexUM's Executive Committee, he participates in LexUM's administration. He is also member of the Advisory Commitee on Information Technology of the Bar of Montreal. Eric is a graduate from University of Montreal in Computer Science (B.Sc.) and in Law (LL.M.). He is currently enrolled at HEC Montreal (M.B.A.)
Pierre-Paul Lemyre - Research & Development
Pierre-Paul Lemyre is in charge of the research and development activities of LexUM. He focus his energies on experimenting with innovative implementations of the various technologies coming out of LexUM's broad range of projects. Previously, he has been in charge of the business development of LexUM, particularly on the international stage were he contributed to build relationships with numerous founding agencies and local partners. Pierre-Paul is highly interested in the challenges that lasting development poses, as well as in the existing links between access to legal material and a fair and efficient justice system. He is also recognized as an expert on legal issues related to free and open source software.
Véronique Abad - on Academic Leave
Véronique Abad is currently on leave during which she is attending the Quebec Bar.
Before her leave, Véronique was CanLII's production manager. She managed the editorial team and was involved in the development of related tools and technology. Véronique was also involved in free access to law initiatives in South America. Véronique is a graduate of l'Université Clermont Ferrand (LL.B.), of l'Université d'Aix en Provence (LL.M.) and of University of Montreal (LL.B. and LL.M.)
Arielle Adjanohoun - Associate editor
Arielle Adjanohoun joined LexUM in 2008 after finishing a project related to the editorial management and deployment of a legal information system in West Africa for the CIDA. After graduating from University of Montreal (LL.M.) in Law and Technology and from l'Université de Haute Alsace (DESS), Arielle works at LexUM on various projects related to legal editing and publishing and participates in legal research initiatives.
Robin Aubut-Fréchette - Associate editor
Specialized in Criminal Law, Robin Aubut-Friéchette is a graduate of University of Sherbrooke in Law (B.Sc.) and was called to the Quebec Bar in 2006. At LexUM, he works as an editor for the CanLII project. He is also involved in other development initiatives. Robin is currently enrolled at the LL.M. in Law en Technology at University of Montreal.
Guillaume Blain - Software Developer
Guillaume Blain is a senior software developer at LexUM and has over 10 years of experience in the field. He is currently involved the development and management of systems related to the publication of statutes and regulations. Guillaume is a graduate from University of Montreal in Computer Science (B.Sc.) and is currently enrolled at the M.Sc.
Josée Boudreau - Production Manager
Josée Boudreau is CanLII's Production Manager. She manages the editorial team and is involved in the development of related tools and technology. Josée is a graduate from University of Montreal in Economy and Law (B.Sc.) and from l'Université du Québec à Montréal (Certificat de formateur en milieu de travail).
Consiglia Capone - Information technician
Technicienne juridique depuis 2006 et également titulaire d'une technique en administration des affaires, Consiglia Capone est en charge de la mise à jour des lois canadiennes au sein de l'équipe de production du projet CanLII. Elle envisage compléter sa formation juridique en effectuant un certificat en droit à l'Université de Montréal.
Karl Charbonneau - Software Developer
Karl Charbonneau is a senior software developer at LexUM and has over 10 years of experience in the field. He is currently involved the development and management of systems related to the publication of statutes and regulations. Karl is a graduate from University of Montreal in Computer Science (B.Sc.)
Dorsaf El Mekki - Project manager
Dorsaf El Mekki termine actuellement un doctorat en droit international à l'Université de Montréal. Elle est également titulaire d'un DEA en droit public international de la Faculté de droit et de sciences politiques de Clermont-Ferrand et de l'Université du Québec à Montréal. Au sein du LexUM, elle est responsable, à titre de chargée de projet, de la diffusion libre du droit dans les pays en développement.
François Harvey - Software Developer
François Harvey is a senior software developer at LexUM. He has over 7 years of experience in the field. François is responsible for the decisions publication infrastructure of CanLII. He sets the guidelines and oversees the development and maintenance of the technological infrastructure. François is a graduate from University of Montreal in Philosophy (Ph.B.) and in Computer Science (B.Sc.)
Frédéric Pelletier - Legal Counsel
Member of the Quebec Bar since 2002, Frédéric is in charge of the development and application of policies regarding the preparation and publication of legal materials by LexUM. In addition to his editorial work for CanLII, he is coordinator of the Canadian Citation Committee and act as a consultant with the Canadian Judicial Council's Judges Technology Advisory Committee. He also carries out research on issues related to public access to court records.
Jean-Philippe Ricard - Software Developer
Jean Philippe Ricard is a senior software developer at LexUM and has over 5 years of experience in the field. He is currently involved the development and management of systems related to the publication of statutes and regulations. Jean Philippe is also involved in the development of systems and products that are used in international projects. Jean Philippe is a graduate from University of Montreal in Computer Science (B.Sc.)
Julie Roy - Information technician
Julie Roy is an Information technician since 2002. She joined LexUM in 2005 after spending three years at the Department of Justice. Julie works in the CanLII project in the production team to publish caselaw. Management of legal documents has no secret for her! She is currently thinking of enrolling in the Law Certificate program at University of Montreal in order to complete her training.
