  • NOME, the Anonymisation Assistant

    NOME is an anonymization software application. Using a Microsoft Word macro, NOME allows for a quicker, automated replacement by initials, or other characters, of identity-protected names mentioned in a document.

  • Canadian Citation Committee

    The Canadian Citation Committee is a group that supports the standardization efforts of the Judges Technology Advisory Commitee of the Canadian Judicial Coucil.

  • Canadian Guide to the Uniform Preparation of Judgments

    The Canadian Guide to the Uniform Preparation of Judgments was approved in 2002 by the Canadian Citation Committee and has since been adopted by many Canadian courts. The Guide provides best practice guidelines for the e-preparation and e-distribution of judgments.

  • Uniform Case Naming Guidelines

    This Guide are intended to be used by court personnel to prepare the case name that is assigned to a decision along with its neutral citation.

  • E-discovery Canada

    Portal that provides documents and resources pertaining to e-discovery in Canada, including case law digests.

  • The Neutral Citation Standard for Case Law

    The Canadian Guide to the Uniform Preparation of Judgments was approved in 2002 by the Canadian Citation Committee and has since been adopted by most Canadian courts.

International Projects

  • Evaluating the effect of free access to law

    LexUM is currently coordinating an evaluation project which aims at assessing the effect of free access to law initiatives in western Africa on lawyers' competence in terms of their ability to conduct legal research.

    The Universal Human Rights Index provides access to observations, recommendations and annotations of United Nations documents pertaining to Human Rights.

  • Juris international

    The Juris International website is a legal information resource pertaining to International Trade.

  • Droit francophone (French)

    Droit francophone is a French resource that includes a portal of over 4,100 French legal websites, document databases and a search engine indexing over 6 millions pages.

  • Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters and Extradition

    Website that provides a description of the legal system of american countries. Bilateral and multilateral treaties related to mutual assistance in criminal matters and extradition are also included.

  • JuriBurkina (French)

    The JuriBurkina Decisions website provides free access to decisions from Burkina Faso courts, including those from the Cour de Cassation, the Conseil d'État and the Conseil Constitutionnel.

  • Réseau d'information juridique africain (French)

    RIJA is a network of African Legal Information Institutes. Its purpose is to create links between members to promote free access to law initiatives in these countries.

  • JuriNiger (French)

    The JuriNiger Decisions website provides free access to decisions from Niger courts, including those from the Cour Suprême, the Cour d'Appel de Niamey and the Cour d'Appel de Zinder.

  • Canado-american Treaties

    Website that provides access to the text of all bilateral treaties established between the United States of America and Canada from 1783 to 1997.

  • Judicial Education Portal

    The Judicial Education Portal identifies, ranks and describes Web resources relevant to judicial training and was financed by the World Bank's Legal and Judicial Reform Practice Group.

  • Algerian Justice System Modernization Project

    In 2003, LexUM submitted a report entitled Information Management in Algeria's Department of Justice to the United Nations' Development Program in Algeria. The report evaluated institutional and human resource needs for the legal and judicial information management at the Algerian Department of Justice.

  • Tunisian Judicial System Modernization Support Project

    In 2005, LexUM submitted a report entitled Strategic Elements in the Development of Information Systems in the Legal Domain to the Tunisian Department of Justice and Human Rights and the United Nations' Development Program in Tunisia.

  • Feasibility Study for a Telecommunications Dispute Resolution Database

    In 2005, LexUM conducted a study for the International Telecommunications Union and the World Bank to evalute the viablity of a multilingual telecommunications regulators' decisions database.

  • ICT Regulatory Decisions Clearinghouse

    The ICT Regulatory Decisions Clearinghouse provides access to decisions originating from ICT decision making bodies such as telecommunications regulators, industry ombudsmen and specialized dispute resolution tribunals.
